In June 2014, Jack moved from Buena Park, California to Hendersonville, Tennessee with the help of moving company United Van Lines. On 5 July, Jack broadcast a live stream in which he complained about the move.[1] During the move, some of Jack's belongings were damaged; the blame for which Jack places entirely on the company. He attempted to get them to pay almost $17,000 to replace his furniture, even after an appraiser determined the damage to be worth only about $7,000.

The move

On 16 June 2014, United Van Lines movers arrived at Jack's house and moved all of his stuff onto the moving van. To Jack's dismay, he noticed other people's furniture was riding along with his own. Jack believed that he should've been given his own moving van, and rebuked United Van Lines for not giving him special treatment. Due to the high volume of furniture and other items Jack attempted to move, three moving vans were required to transport all of Jack's belongings to Tennessee, also requiring the movers to return for a second loading day. Jack complained about having to wait on the second day in 80-90°F (26-32°C) summer heat.

When storing a refrigerator unit long-term while it is not in use, it is important to ensure no moisture remains inside the unit. Otherwise, mold or other forms of bacterial cultures will form within the dark, damp enclosure. Jack was completely unaware of this and ended up with a fridge full of mold. Jack, of course, takes no responsibility for this and believes that United Van Lines was responsible for ensuring proper move prep of his household appliances.

The result

Jack ended up filing a damages claim with United Van Lines, wherein he attempted to get replacements for many important things, such as a Disney snow globe for $127, a pasta bowl for $374 and a photograph of Al Pacino for $150. Jack was unable to itemize many of the items that he claimed to be missing, and a third party appraiser determined the vast majority of the damage to be unrelated to the move. The damage was determined to be worth only about $7,000 USD. Jack attempted to bring this to the attention of Lawyers, but has never since mentioned the results of this endeavor. It is assumed that he was unable to make any progress, and has since conceded on the matter.
