Whisk raid

In May 2022, Jack started a community page on the recipe-sharing platform Whisk. With Whisk's lack of robust moderation tools Jack usually uses to rule with an iron fist, the page was relentlessly raided by trolls, with Jack shutting everything down within less than a full day.

Background

The Whisk website/app served as an online platform dedicated to the organization and management of recipes, featuring capabilities for building a personal recipe database, meal planning, and creating grocery lists. Additionally, Whisk actively promoted the sharing and "monetization" of users' recipes on its platform, paying users out based on both page views and people marking their recipes as having "made it". In August 2023, Whisk was acquired by Samsung and is currently known as Samsung Food.

Jack discovered Whisk, and embodying the epitome of laziness, was drawn to it by the opportunity for monetization along with his "low effort = big gains" philosophy. On 24 May 2022 at around 11:27AM Jacktime, Jack subsequently announced on Facebook that all future Cooking with Jack recipes will be listed on Whisk, and not in the description box under videos - inconveniencing people to squeeze out some extra pennies.

Jack's recipes

True to form, Jack's contributions to Whisk consisted of recipes that were either lazily compiled or plagiarized. While the full recipes were not all properly archived, what has been noted down is a travesty. Whisk's proprietary algorithm, which evaluates the "nutritional score" of custom recipes submitted by individuals, rated Jack's non-plagiarized recipes as having very poor health ratings - provided that he actually listed the ingredient measurements, which he did not for half of them. Some recipes omitted ingredients shown in their respective CWJ videos, and the instructions were written in the most lazy concise method possible.

When it was first shared, Jack added five recipes to the community page. In midst of the KETO era, three of the five recipes were described as KETO. Later, a recipe for a salad was added, which was pointed out to be directly plagiarized from another website.

When the Whisk page was first shared on Jack's Kiwi Farms thread, it was quickly discovered that Whisk, unlike YouTube, does not afford Jack the same level of dominion over censoring criticism and sending haters to the boys' club - precipitating a full-blown raid by trolls. Additionally, users on Whisk had the liberty to recreate recipes, posting them as their own "custom version" alongside the original. This feature led to the emergence of mock recipes such as "POORMAN'S ROAST DOG".

Around 30 troll accounts quickly stormed the page. The persistent onslaught of burners overwhelmed Jack's stroke-addled brain, and in desperation, he removed all recipes and permanently locked down the community page by 6:39PM Jacktime, with the entire stint lasting only seven hours. The recipe pages remained unlisted and viewable for some time before their eventual deletion. Interestingly, Jack specifically kicked troll accounts named "X Scalfani" alongside one called "StrokeArm" from the page, but left all other trolls intact. Jack's own account also vanished from the page, whether he simply left it or deleted his account altogether, and he never acknowledged Whisk again after the fact.
