Jack and diets

Jack has attempted various diets over the years, often with limited to zero results. Jack's dieting often begins with him pontificating about the importance of healthy eating and exercise. He tells us that he knows what's healthy and what isn't - he just chooses to eat large quantities of fat, grease and salt, and could totally stop any time he wants.

This is typically followed by progressively more frequent substitutions on food and avoidance of exercise, until the diet is never seen or heard from again.

P90X

In March 2012, Jack took it upon himself to attempt to lose weight using the P90X workout - a notoriously rigorous and intense physical workout regimen. Unsurprisingly, Jack got quickly tired of it, as he was mostly unable to do the exercises properly or often enough to see any form of real result. He stopped updating us on his progress after about thirteen weeks during which he showed barely any physical change.

Keto

An image of what Jack considers to be a healthy casserole. Jack would like you to note the broccoli buried under the cheese and bread crumbs. Because broccoli is a vegetable, this dish is KETO and therefore healthy.

In June 2018, Jack suffered a stroke that cost him the use of his right arm. In response, Jack began claiming that he was turning a new leaf and vowed to eat healthier. To achieve this, Jack chose to adopt the ketogenic diet, a nutritional plan characterized by low carbohydrate intake and a focus on eating low-fat meat and vegetables. "Keto" in Jack's mind, however, means a small amount of vegetables stuffed with carbs and cheese as exemplified in the image.

Profile by Sanford

Jack and Tammy celebrating losing 25 pounds while on Profile! (24 by Tammy and 1 by Jack.)

With keto long dead, on a 20 January 2021 video titled "Jack is finally doing something about his weight", Jack announced he was trying out Profile by Sanford; a diet plan that provides meal plans for weight loss goals. It was unlikely that Jack hit any of his goals however, since he filmed himself eating large amounts of fast food during this time. Tammy also took up on the diet, visibly losing a good amount of chunk unlike her husband (Only to gain it back once the diet was shelved).

It should be noted that sometime after Jack and Tammy quit the Profile diet, Mr. Sanford was implicated in a child pornography bust.[1] The company remains to this day, since renamed to Profile Plan.

Carnivore

On 1 January 2024, Jack began the carnivore diet, a fad "diet" where one only eats animal products like meat, eggs and cheese. He later cited Joe Rogan, who declared 2024 as the "Year of the Carnivore", as inspiration.[2] Jack claims that vegetables are poison, and vowed to never eat another vegetable again.

Jack stubbornly held onto the carnivore diet, at least on camera, throughout the entirety of 2024. As soon as 2025 came, Jack relaxed on the diet, consuming a BLT skewer for a Cooking with Jack video and it all going downhill from there.[3] Despite that, Jack still considers himself a carnivore and tries to minimize the eating of non-meat on camera. (Emphasis on "on camera"!)

Okragate

Adding insult to injury, the receipt displayed during the Okragate video shows it was filmed merely four days after the start of Jack's dieting.

In late January 2024, Jack uploaded "Strikeout Wingz - WING WARS" on Jack on the Go, showing him ordering a side of fried okra on his plate. When it was pointed out that he ordered a deadly vegetable (one that was fried no less - completely incompatible with a carnivore diet), Jack first insisted that the okra was eaten by Tammy, before later stating that it was simply thrown out.[4] The community largely saw this as another one of Jack's lies, and Jack was repeatedly pelted with "JACK ATE OKRA" troll messages in the livestreams that followed.
