In May 2022, Jack discovered Whisk and, embodying the epitome of laziness, was drawn to it by the opportunity for monetization along with his "low effort = big gains" philosophy. Jack subsequently announced that all future recipes on the show will be listed on Whisk, and not the description box under the video. True to form, Jack's contributions to Whisk consisted of recipes that were lazily compiled and often plagiarized from other cooking websites. Furthermore, Whisk's proprietary algorithm, which evaluates the "nutritional score" of custom recipes submitted by individuals, consistently rated Jack's original (non-plagiarized) recipes as having very poor health ratings. One of the recipes that Jack made on Whisk was "Poorman's BURNT ENDS". It reads like a culinary misadventure hastily thrown together by someone who treats recipe writing with the same regard as a last-minute grocery list. The ingredient roster, an odd assembly featuring unspecified wine and a hotchpotch of sauces, suggests more of a pantry purge than a thoughtful selection.
True to form, Jack's contributions to Whisk consisted of recipes that were lazily compiled and often plagiarized from other cooking websites. Whisk's proprietary algorithm, which evaluates the "nutritional score" of custom recipes submitted by individuals, rated Jack's non-plagiarized recipes as having very poor health ratings - provided that he actually listed the ingredient measurements, which he did not for half of them.

For example, the instructions for the Burnt Ends seemed to be hastily written with zero context or specifics about cooking. There were also zero specifics on the quantity of ingredients that are to be used in the recipe. Jack simply wrote the following for instructions:
When it was first shared, Jack added five recipes to the community page. In midst of the [[Jack and diets#Keto|KETO]] era, three of the five recipes were described as KETO.<ref>https://discord.com/channels/957778017277595689/957782549189496872/978671550872043540</ref> Later, a recipe for a salad was added, which was pointed out to be directly plagiarized from another website.<ref>https://kiwifarms.st/threads/jack-russell-scalfani-cooking-with-jack-jack-on-the-go-show-jakatak.13468/post-11979740</ref>

"Bind & season meat" opens the act with a vague flourish, leaving one to wonder about the specifics of the binding and the seasoning; "Cook til 165 Wrap in foil cook til 200 Rest" reads like a cryptic message left by someone who's never encountered punctuation, or the concept of food safety temperatures; while the last step hastily directs to "Place in baking dish with cubed butter and bbq sauce cook 275 for 60 min", an abrupt end to an already puzzling culinary journey.

As soon as Jack broadcasted the launch of his Whisk page on Facebook, vigilant Foodjacks, who consistently track his online activities, swiftly raised the alarm. What Jack failed to realize was that Whisk, unlike YouTube, does not afford him the same level of dominion over censoring criticism and expelling "haters". On Whisk, users have the liberty to comment directly under recipes and can even recreate recipes, posting them as their own "custom version". This feature led to the emergence of mock recipes, such as "POORMAN'S ROAST DOG", appearing alongside the original on the recipe page.

Following the announcement, Jack's Whisk page details and the comment feature were shared on his Kiwi Farms thread, which precipitated a full-blown raid by the Foodjacks. In an attempt at damage control, he tried to conceal certain recipes, erase comments, and block some Foodjacks. Nevertheless, the persistent onslaught of Foodjack burner accounts overwhelmed Jack's stroke-addled brain, and in desperation, he deleted everything on his entire Whisk page on the very day it was established. This event marked the shortest venture in Jack's entire career.
Around 30 trolls quickly stormed the page.<ref name=PageDead>https://kiwifarms.st/threads/jack-russell-scalfani-cooking-with-jack-jack-on-the-go-show-jakatak.13468/post-11981900</ref><ref>https://kiwifarms.st/threads/jack-russell-scalfani-cooking-with-jack-jack-on-the-go-show-jakatak.13468/post-11980198</ref> The persistent onslaught of burner accounts overwhelmed Jack's stroke-addled brain, and in desperation, he deleted the community page by 6:39PM Jacktime, with the entire stint lasting only seven hours.<ref name=PageDead/> The recipe pages remained viewable unlisted for some time before their eventual deletion too.<ref>https://kiwifarms.st/threads/jack-russell-scalfani-cooking-with-jack-jack-on-the-go-show-jakatak.13468/post-11982096</ref> Jack never acknowledged Whisk again after the fact.

A promotional ad for the Whisk app.

In May 2022, Jack made a community page on the recipe-sharing platform Whisk. With a lack of any usual moderation tools at Jack's disposal, the page was relentlessly raided by trolls, with Jack shutting everything down within less than a full day.

Background

The Whisk website/app served as an online platform dedicated to the organization and management of recipes, featuring capabilities for building a personal recipe database, meal planning, and creating grocery lists.[1] Additionally, Whisk actively promoted the sharing and "monetization" of users' recipes on its platform.[2] In August 2023, Whisk was acquired by Samsung and is currently known as Samsung Food.[3][4]

Jack discovered Whisk, and embodying the epitome of laziness, was drawn to it by the opportunity for monetization along with his "low effort = big gains" philosophy. On 24 May 2022 at around 11:27AM Jacktime, Jack subsequently announced on Facebook that all future Cooking with Jack recipes will be listed on Whisk, and not in the description box under videos - inconveniencing people for the sake of it.[5]

Jack's recipes

True to form, Jack's contributions to Whisk consisted of recipes that were lazily compiled and often plagiarized from other cooking websites. Whisk's proprietary algorithm, which evaluates the "nutritional score" of custom recipes submitted by individuals, rated Jack's non-plagiarized recipes as having very poor health ratings - provided that he actually listed the ingredient measurements, which he did not for half of them.

When it was first shared, Jack added five recipes to the community page. In midst of the KETO era, three of the five recipes were described as KETO.[6] Later, a recipe for a salad was added, which was pointed out to be directly plagiarized from another website.[7]

Raid

After eating this, I spent five days on my couch experiencing geometric visual hallucinations. I'd consider renaming this dish the "poor man's ayahuasca retreat."
Troll "Lando Lakes"

When the Whisk page was first shared on Jack's Kiwi Farms thread, it was quickly discovered that Whisk, unlike YouTube, does not afford Jack the same level of dominion over censoring criticism and sending haters to the boys' club - precipitating a full-blown raid by trolls.[10] Additionally, users on Whisk had the liberty to recreate recipes, posting them as their own "custom version" alongside the original. This feature led to the emergence of mock recipes such as "POORMAN'S ROAST DOG".[11]

Around 30 trolls quickly stormed the page.[12][13] The persistent onslaught of burner accounts overwhelmed Jack's stroke-addled brain, and in desperation, he deleted the community page by 6:39PM Jacktime, with the entire stint lasting only seven hours.[12] The recipe pages remained viewable unlisted for some time before their eventual deletion too.[14] Jack never acknowledged Whisk again after the fact.
