A non-exhaustive collection of notable critics of Jack, sorted alphabetically.

This page is split into three categories; critic groups, "dedicated" individual critics that have made Jack a larger focus of their content, and "casual" critics who have criticized Jack before, but are not overly attached to him.

Groups

4chan's /ck/

The /ck/ - "Food & Cooking" board of 4chan was the earliest home of Jack trolls, with him becoming a subject of posts as early as September 2013. In October 2015, the board mobilized in trolling Jack over his appearance on the Sunday Evening Coffee podcast, where he admitted to choking his son and advocated for the genocide of Palestinians. In recent years, the board's bitter moderation team (Apheliot, archaeowicker, bigyah00, newton, Smart, tetherballeyebleach108, w370) engaged in strict censorship of Jack threads, largely fading him out of the board's culture.

Aunt Myrna's Parlour

Aunt Myrna's Parlour is a Discord server created by Kiwi Farms user Rod Dangerous on 28 March 2022. Originally intended as a fanclub for Pink Chicken & The Lazy Man, it has since morphed into a general Jack detractor server. On 26 January 2025, Rod Dangerous left the server over personal reasons and gave Pink Chicken ownership. As of June 2025, it has 135+ members.

Kiwi Farms

Kiwi Farms is an internet gossip forum currently managed by Joshua "Null" Moon. A thread on Jack was created on 16 October 2015, and has served as the main archive of Jack's antics since, with 3500+ pages as of June 2025.

Dedicated critics

Down with Jack Scalfani

Down with Jack Scalfani is a discontinued WordPress blog authored by Illinois blogger Ashley Hayes (under the pen name Ashleigh Haze). The blog was "dedicated to exposing the ugly underbelly of self-proclaimed foodie and nicest guy on YouTube, Jack Scalfani", and received posts from February to May 2016.

Jack Vlogs

Jack Vlogs is an anonymous YouTube channel that would edit Jack's videos into comedic parodies. Despite slowly gaining popularity and enduring multiple of Jack's copyright strikes, the channel was suspended from YouTube on 24 August 2024, over violations of the site's "sex and nudity policy" after an attempted upload of a video covering the 2019 Facebook hack. The channel has since returned on both YouTube and Rumble.

John Mattress

John Mattress is a small YouTuber who made several edits of Jack's videos from 2016-2017, most notably shining a light on the year-old freezer-burned brisket chili. Despite making a new video in 2021, John said he would not return to regularly making Jack edits, as he hoped the original batch would make Jack "take the ribbing and criticism to heart and improve his craft", which was obviously not the reality.

Pink Chicken & The Lazy Man

Pink Chicken & The Lazy Man (PCTLM) is a podcast starring a Pennsylvanian couple named Michelle (Pink Chicken) and Tom (Lazy Man). PCTLM consists of two parts; a pre-recorded podcast going over random individual Jack videos, and The Boys' Club, a weekly YouTube livestream covering both Jack's recent video output and his social media posts.

Jack has attempted to have PCTLM terminated by the use of copyright strikes. By September 2022, the PCTLM YouTube channel had received about 10 takedown notices from Jack; all of which have been since repealed. When asked about PCTLM during a livestream, Jack would claim that he had "never heard of it [...] never seen it" - a rather brazen lie.

Should I Series

Should I Series is a small restaurant chef that has tested several of Jack's recipes, including Aunt Myrna's dreaded Party Cheese Salad. He tried out The Best Sauces in 2019, promptly spitting out the barbeque sauce upon it entering his mouth. Additionally, he created LolCowGo, a tool which allows searching through transcripts of the video library of various lolcows, including Jack.

Total KoolAid & More

Rather than reacting to Jack's videos, Total KoolAid & More focuses more on Jack's old blogs, which shows more of what Jack is like behind the scenes.

Casual critics

August the Duck

August the Duck, real name August Burton Bruce, is a YouTuber known for his reaction videos, gained prominence by reacting to Jack's controversial cooking content, starting with Jack’s "Wet Brine vs Dry Brine Chicken" videos.

On 12 April 2022, August announced that he would no longer react to Jack's videos, citing ethical concerns and discomfort with mocking someone who had experienced significant health issues, including multiple strokes. However, on 27 August, August returned to reacting to Jack's content. On 26 June 2023, August announced he would be ending the Jack reactions once again, due to not feeling comfortable making fun of Jack after his most recent stroke.

Dox email incident

The email August received, which was very obviously not written by Jack.

August uploaded one more Jack video on 20 February 2024, discussing Jack’s appearance on the Sunday Evening Coffee podcast. This video led to August receiving a threatening email including his personal information, which August originally pinned on Jack. Upon skepticism by viewers on Jack's involvement, August published a community post clarifying that while Jack had denied sending the email, the doxing threat appeared to come from a Jack supporter.

Brian Tsao

Brian Tsao, a professional chef, would react to Jack's videos and comment on the more professional methods to prepare dishes, usually accompanied by a guest. Tsao uploaded 18 Jack reaction videos in total before officially retiring the topic.

CinnamonToastKen

CinnamonToastKen, real name Kenneth Charles "Ken" Morrison, has reacted to several Jack videos with his friend, BuffPro.

Colossal Is Crazy

Colossal Is Crazy, real name Oliver William Colton, had made one major video on Jack simply titled "weed", in which he covered Jack's West Texas Investors Club episode, Jack's Sunday Evening Coffee appearance, and Jack's general bad cooking habits. The video had gained almost two million views by early 2024, but later that year, the video was deleted by Colton for uncertain reasons. Reuploads of the video still exist.

Cr1TiKaL

Cr1TiKaL/penguinz0, real name Charles Christopher White Jr., has reacted to several Jack videos, making fun of Jack with his signature deadpan humour. He has also made fun of Jack's apparent obsession with mayonnaise.

DomReacts

DomReacts is a lesser-known reaction YouTuber who would occasionally react to Jack's gross cooking videos. While he initially just seemed to be grossed out by Jack's cooking, like everyone else, he later developed a genuine dislike for Jack after Jack tried to copyright strike Dom's videos, despite the videos being protected by fair use. Dom and his friend Hayden had tried Jack's barbeque sauce, admitting that while they dislike Jack, they did enjoy the sauce. As of June 2025, Dom's channel has become inactive.

James Makinson

James Makinson is a professional chef from Spain. James has reacted to several of Jack's videos while giving his professional opinion on how the dishes Jack makes would traditionally be prepared.

TheArcWielder

TheArcWielder, real name Noah Black, has reacted to many Jack videos. Noah has a degree in psychology, which has allowed him to talk more about signs of Jack's awful personality in addition to his cooking.

Uncle Roger

Uncle Roger, real name Nigel Ng, is a Malaysian comedian that has reacted to multiple Jack videos, blown away with how disgusting they were.

Vincenzo's Plate

Vincenzo's Plate is a YouTube channel run by Vincenzo Prosperi, an Italian home cook who reacts to people making Italian cuisine to check its authenticity. Vincenzo has reacted to two Jack videos, appalled by how bad they were and being shocked by Jack's claims to be Italian.
