Whisk raid

In May 2022, Jack made an account on the Whisk platform, which was swiftly raided by trolls.

Background

The Whisk website and app serve as an online platform dedicated to the organization and management of recipes, featuring capabilities for building a personal recipe database, meal planning, and creating grocery lists. Additionally, Whisk actively promotes the sharing and "monetization" of users' recipes on its platform. As of 2023, Whisk was acquired by Samsung and is currently known as Samsung Food.

In May 2022, Jack discovered Whisk and, embodying the epitome of laziness, was drawn to it by the opportunity for monetization along with his "low effort = big gains" philosophy. Jack subsequently announced that all future recipes on the show will be listed on Whisk, and not the description box under the video. True to form, Jack's contributions to Whisk consisted of recipes that were lazily compiled and often plagiarized from other cooking websites. Furthermore, Whisk's proprietary algorithm, which evaluates the "nutritional score" of custom recipes submitted by individuals, consistently rated Jack's original (non-plagiarized) recipes as having very poor health ratings. Foodjacks subsequently discovered Jack's Whisk page and raided it, which led to Jack subsequently nuking the entire page on the same day he created it and never mentioning it again. This was one of the most short-lived "stints" of Jack, with the entire Whisk saga lasting less than 24 hours.

Jack's recipes

One of the recipes that Jack made on Whisk was "Poorman's BURNT ENDS". It reads like a culinary misadventure hastily thrown together by someone who treats recipe writing with the same regard as a last-minute grocery list. The ingredient roster, an odd assembly featuring unspecified wine and a hotchpotch of sauces, suggests more of a pantry purge than a thoughtful selection.

For example, the instructions for the Burnt Ends seemed to be hastily written with zero context or specifics about cooking. There were also zero specifics on the quantity of ingredients that are to be used in the recipe. Jack simply wrote the following for instructions:

1. Bind & season meat
2. Cook til 165 Wrap in Foil cook til 200 rest
3. Cut into cubes
4. Place in baking dish with cubed butter and bbq sauce cook 275 for 60 min

"Bind & season meat" opens the act with a vague flourish, leaving one to wonder about the specifics of the binding and the seasoning; "Cook til 165 Wrap in foil cook til 200 Rest" reads like a cryptic message left by someone who's never encountered punctuation, or the concept of food safety temperatures; while the last step hastily directs to "Place in baking dish with cubed butter and bbq sauce cook 275 for 60 min", an abrupt end to an already puzzling culinary journey.

The blitzkrieg

As soon as Jack broadcasted the launch of his Whisk page on Facebook, vigilant Foodjacks, who consistently track his online activities, swiftly raised the alarm. What Jack failed to realize was that Whisk, unlike YouTube, does not afford him the same level of dominion over censoring criticism and expelling "haters". On Whisk, users have the liberty to comment directly under recipes and can even recreate recipes, posting them as their own "custom version". This feature led to the emergence of mock recipes, such as "POORMAN'S ROAST DOG", appearing alongside the original on the recipe page.

Following the announcement, Jack's Whisk page details and the comment feature were shared on his Kiwi Farms thread, which precipitated a full-blown raid by the Foodjacks. In an attempt at damage control, he tried to conceal certain recipes, erase comments, and block some Foodjacks. Nevertheless, the persistent onslaught of Foodjack burner accounts overwhelmed Jack's stroke-addled brain, and in desperation, he deleted everything on his entire Whisk page on the very day it was established. This event marked the briefest venture in Jack's entire career.
